Professor Julian Velasco was recently elected a member of the American Law Institute.

The institute’s members have the opportunity to influence the development of the law in both existing and emerging areas, to work with other eminent lawyers, judges, and academics, to give back to a profession to which they are deeply dedicated, and to contribute to the public good.

Professor Velasco has been a member of the Notre Dame Law School faculty since 2001. His primary teaching and research interests include corporate law, corporate governance, and fiduciary law.

“It is an honor to be admitted to membership in such a prestigious organization — one that contributes so much to the legal profession,” he said.
