The 11th Law and Economics Conference: Law and Economics of Corporate Governance: Shareholders, Stakeholders, and Beyond, was held at the University of Lucerne on March 15. The conference is co-sponsored by the ND Program on Law and Market Behavior (ND LAMB).
The conference aimed to analyze the merits and foundational principles of Corporate Social Responsibility and ESG (the environmental, social, and governance aspects of corporate conduct and performance) policies from the perspective of law and economics. The program included panels on protecting stakeholders' interests and transparency.
As in preceding years, the papers from the conference will be published by Springer Nature in the academic series “Economic Analysis of Law in European Legal Scholarship.” Each year, the conference focuses on a specific topic or theme.
During the conference Notre Dame Law School and the Faculty of Law at the University of Lucerne solidified their long standing relationship by signing an official partnership agreement.
This agreement, aimed at facilitating faculty and student exchanges, fostering joint research projects, and promoting program collaborations, will enhance the educational experiences and opportunities at both schools. With a focus on enriching academic cooperation, both institutions also plan to host additional joint events in the future, building upon the success of previous Law and Economics conferences.
